Outfit Check: Ryan Eggold at Rock the Vote

Here’s Ryan Eggold at a recent Rock the Vote Event. I will give him a high grade for this outfit for the sole reason that he is attempting to use his fame to promote Obama. 10,000 points for that. Fortunately, that cancels out the significant deductions he receives for his scruffy hair (on his head and face) and that fucking vest that if I see him wearing one more time I will rip it from his body with my bare hand.

Shenae Grimes responds to press criticism

Not content with her “shake it off, baby!” response to US Weekly about press criticism for her weight and her smoking, Shenae took to her myspace to blog about her problems. I thought Silver was the blogger on the show?

“I would like to say once again that neither me or Jessica have issues with our weight or bodies. I happened to be very small built, and ive always been skinny.  So I personally think that people need to stop criticizing everyone in the media these days about their issues. Im sure you wouldnt like it if someone pointed out all of your flaws and all of your mistakes.

Tmz has criticized my smoking habit. I cant say that im proud of it, but there are so many people struggling with the addiction nowadays. I started smoking at about 16, and 1 in 5 teenagers smoke. Im not going to really go into the issue, but my hope is that you will all just stop hating and get on with it. I smoke. My choice. Im sorry if you dont like it, but this is who I am.

WOW she is an amazing writer. I totally feel her pain and anguish coming through the myspace page. I now take back everything bad I’ve ever said about her, because who could argue with someone as poetic and insightful as that? Certainly not I.

Oh wait – I can. First, people who become famous are almost instantly criticized for virtually everything they do. It’s called media scrutiny. And it turns out that it gives famous people attention, develops their brand, and generally makes them more famous. Do you know anything about Paris Hilton that you didn’t learn from an article or magazine criticizing her? Turns out if there’s not a lot of talent to discuss, press will focus on other things. Second, responding to press criticism has never in the entire history of the world resulted in anything but increased press attention and criticism. Even the guy who responded to the unflattering cave drawing about him figured that out.

Outfit Check: Annalynne McCord is tippy

Annalynne McCord was photographed on the 90210 set clutching her assistant for help balancing. Some sites are saying she’s too skinny and was swooning, but I think anyone would need to clutch something when trying to walk in those killer heels.

• The dress is pretty – simple, flattering, looks young enough for a high school student to wear. Wouldn’t advocate it for a night out at a club, too many ruffles around the neckline.
• Hate the necklace.
• Terrified of the shoes, although they are definitely fierce.
• Her hair looks gorgeous. Not blown out too straight, not too frizzy or crunchy. Gorgeous curls.

Here’s some of the cast (Shannen Doherty, Tristan Wilds, and Ryan Eggold) at a party for the new Rock Band. They look like they’re having such fun and are all dressed well! What an amazing achievement!!

90210 v Gossip Girl

Annalynne McCord spoke out on the comparisons between 90210 and GG:

Oh DEAR. First of all, there’s no clothing war. That would not be a David & Goliath matchup, that would be the Mount Everest of Gossip Girl crushing the tiny ant that is 90210. Gossip Girl is fashion. 90210 is cheap shit teenage girls buy in the mall with their allowance money.

Second, let’s see why Leighton rocks so hard on that show. She’s an amazing actress, yes. But Blair’s character rocks that show and Blair rocks New York City. Why? Because she is an evil scheming bitch. She knows what she wants and she will stop at absolutely nothing to get it, no matter who or what is in her way. You know who is not at all like that in any way? Naomi. She’s friendly to crying Annie and hurts on her inside because of her family. That is not evil. That is not scheming. That is not bitchy. GET ON IT.

I miss Val

Don’t you think they should bring Val back? I miss her, and I miss Tiffany (Amber) Thiessen, too. And unlike Jason Priestly, she still looks like an actual person, instead of a person who has opted out of civilization and basic hygiene. She’s awfully sportif these days – here’s photos of her at at Nike 10K race and the Nautica Malibu Triathalon (the one that J.Lo did too.)

Have you seen Jason Priestly lately? He looks like he’s been living out in a cabin in the woods with no electricity and heated only by burning moose fat while he writes his manifesto on paper made from tree bark. Come back to civilization and shave your face, Jason.

Tristan Wilds at Emmy gifting suite

This, to me, looks like a much more natural and relaxed look for Tristan than running around in sweater vests with bowties and pageboy hats. It also makes him look like an actual teenager instead of a 12 year old trying to dress up like an actual teenager. Stop trying so hard, Tristan.
